Quality of Life?

Spoke with Mom’s Doctor, we are lucky, he is a great guy who really tries to help seniors.  Not a lot of those kind of doctors around.

He told me he was running out of options with Mom. She is starting to spit up after dinner. Her food is not digesting which makes her a very high aspiration risk. The options are put Nasal Gastrisal Tube or a PIC feeding tube. The NG tube would be pulled out by mom, so that doesn’t work and the PIC tube is a high risk surgery and mom had a hernia that is right where they want to plant this thing.

So for now we just try to feed mom next to nothing at dinner and hope she doesn’t aspirate at night. This is not quality of life.
